 Country Risk - Country Strategy

Objectives | Methodology | Geographic areas of expertise

Country strategy studies are designed to support corporate decisions on their long-term implication with developing countries. This would include investment or acquisition decisions, long-term commercial or partnership policies, and possibly withdrawal or retrenchment processes. Such “strategic decisions” usually need to be based on a medium- to long-term scenarios for both the macroeconomic, social and political environment and risk situation of the country, and for the specific industry performance and competitors’ behavior. TAC’s country strategy studies are constructed and realized precisely to feed the decision process for such strategic issues.

Over the past few, TAC has worked extensively on India and acquired a real and in-depth expertise on India. Not only is India among the 45 developing countries that we monitor on a continuous basis for our country risk service Risk Monitor, but we were significantly involved in the economic / political dialogue between the European Commission and the Indian authorities as well as business representative organisations (CII and FICCI), both on the macro side and the industry analysis.

Furthermore, these past studies have led TAC to create a formal macro-econometric model enabling to test various assumptions for the medium- to long-term development of India. This allows the construction of global and coherent scenarios on the key economic indicators (growth, inflation, components of demand, interest rates, exchange rate…), to which we add specific industry or even corporate extensions to meet each customer’s exact interest and requirements.

Moreover, TAC has established a very privileged business relation with a leading Indian consulting company (Ace Global Private Ltd), involved in both market research and investors’ representation in India.

TAC can therefore muster the whole chain of analyses and background factors for investment decisions in India, in a total independence and with the highest expertise, both from France and in India (from long-term scenarios to market surveys, including identification of partners or valuation of targets, etc.).

The following document (written in French) presents the whole range of research and analytical products that TAC can propose to support foreign investors’ strategic decisions or key management issues in India.
